Sauteed shrimps with peanutbutter sauce

Ingredients

  • 500 g fresh shrimps
  • 20 g olive oil
  • turmeric, lemon juice
  • salt, pepper
  • black sesame (for the end)

For sauce

  • 70 g peanut butter
  • 10 g balsamic vinegar
  • 30 g extra virgin olive oil

Amvrakikos’ Shrimps, excellent quality peanutbutter and virgin olive oil!

Peanutbutter is a particularly rich in protein, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids food but low in carbohydrates. It also contains many minerals and trace elements such as calcium, phosphorus, manganese, magnesium, iron, zinc, B and E complex.

A food that when consumed in moderation gives us excellent nutrients.

As for the shrimps of Amvrakikos, who can resist!

Amvrakikos’ shrimp (Melikertus Kerathurus) is an endemic species of the Amvrakikos that completes its biological cycle within the gulf.
The Amvrakikos shrimps have some of their own characteristics. They are known for their unique, irresistible taste. A special seafood that justifies its reputation.

Of course, you can use whatever kind of shrimp you have and enjoy!

Method

We gut our shrimps by trying to keep the heads.

Mix the shrimps in a bowl with spices (except salt) and olive oil.
Set aside for a few minutes to marinate (at least 10).

In a very hot and non-stick pan, saute the shrimps until golden.

Ready, fast and simple!

We keep them warm until we prepare the sauce.

For the sauce:

In a bowl, combine the peanut butter and balsamic.

Add the olive oil and stir until the mixture is homogenized.

Serve the shrimps with peanutbutter and sprinkle with some black sesame.

Ideally accompanied with aromatic basmati rice (steam cooked ideally).
